The proceeds from the race will benefit underprivileged children who want to participate in the Boo Williams Summer League Program in Hampton Roads. Love Thy Neighbor raised $1500 for the program, enough to send 10 kids to summer camp. Pictured in the photo are Susan Peterson (one of the foundation's five directors), Boo Williams (founder of the Boo Williams Summer League), and Justin Peterson (another foundation director). "This is our first event in the Hampton Roads region," said Susan Peterson. "Im looking forward to raising money for other organizations in future 5Ks and really appreciate all the help we received to make this one so successful!" Love Thy Neighbor was founded in 2007 and has helped those who needed assistance throughout the United States. All people deserve a chance and can benefit from the graciousness of their neighbors. Through the help of Love Thy Neighbor and everyone who participated in the 5K, local youth will get that chance to play a sport they love and receive proper training.
